The therapeutic relationship is the bridge between what has been and what can be
Hi, I’m Poppy, an experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I hold a Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling from Chelmsford Counselling Foundation and a Master’s degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Essex.
Before training as a therapist, I spent a number of years working in the public health sector as a Healthcare Assistant, where I provided vital support to individuals facing challenging and distressing experiences. This background has deeply informed my compassionate and understanding approach to therapeutic work.
I am committed to ethical and reflective practice and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing in a safe and confidential environment, with someone from outside your day-to-day life.
Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives - and perhaps a new understanding of yourself.
I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.
I offer a calm, reflective, and containing therapeutic space where thoughts and feelings can be expressed and explored with compassion. I see the therapeutic relationship as central to meaningful change — a place where emotional experiences can be held, understood, and gradually made sense of.
Through steady, collaborative work, patterns that may once have felt confusing or deeply entrenched can begin to take shape and be understood, opening the possibility for greater emotional freedom and a deeper sense of self.
My psychodynamic approach supports clients in exploring how past experiences and early attachments influence present-day feelings, behaviours, and relationships. By bringing unconscious patterns into awareness, clients can develop insight, build emotional resilience, and discover new ways of relating both to themselves and to others.
I have experience supporting people through a wide range of issues, including:
Depression
Anxiety
Relationship and attachment difficulties
Bereavement
Identity concerns
Adjusting to significant life changes
I strive to create a steady, supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their inner world and work towards lasting, meaningful change.
